Social listening with Reddit helps you monitor mentions of specific keywords and hashtags across relevant subreddits. Reddit is a highly active community platform where users share honest opinions, ask questions, and discuss brands, products, and topics in depth. By tracking these conversations, you can uncover authentic audience sentiment, identify emerging trends, and gather real-time feedback from niche communities. This allows you to stay informed and respond effectively to what your audience is saying.
Let’s look at an example to understand.
A cosmetics brand noticed ongoing discussions about one of their moisturizers. While many users shared positive results, others raised concerns about recent changes in texture and how it affected sensitive skin.
Unlike other platforms, Reddit users provided in-depth, honest reviews, comparisons, and even shared photos showing their results—highlighting issues that weren’t captured through formal support channels.
In such cases, Social Listening on Reddit enables you to monitor specific keywords and hashtags within relevant subreddits, allowing you to track authentic, topic-focused conversations. This helps you uncover detailed feedback and discussions that are unique to Reddit’s engaged communities, providing deeper insights into customer sentiment and emerging trends related to your brand and products.
Let’s see how to set up your account and listen on Reddit.

The next step is to build your query.
In this step, you’ll be able to customize your listening feed by selecting specific hashtags and keywords, to include or exclude, helping you focus on the most relevant conversations.
Note: You can use the "Add Group" to create separate groups for hashtags, keywords, or user tags in your inclusions and exclusions while building your query. This helps organize and refine your listening feed for more precise results.
In our example, we have included hashtags like #moisturizer and #skincare, keywords such as "moisturizer texture" and "sensitive skin," and relevant @tags to ensure we capture authentic user feedback while excluding unrelated terms like #makeup and "giveaway" to keep the results focused and meaningful.
You can also use Wing AI to build the query.
