Installing the SurveySparrow connector for Claude

Claude is a leading AI model created by Anthropic, used by businesses globally to automate and enhance tasks like coding, copywriting, document and image generation with speed and quality. Claude can also perform tasks inside other platforms on behalf of users, via connectors, which are like integrations hosted on Claude’s connector directory. SurveySparrow now has a Claude connector that lets users create and run surveys all inside their Claude chats.

The connector lets users perform the following actions:

  1. Create, edit and publish surveys
  2. Distribute surveys via weblink, email, SMS or WhatsApp
  3. Analyze responses
  4. List responses and surveys

Possible use-cases include:

  1. A customer experience team builds and analyzes a B2B software CSAT survey to identify top improvement areas from live feedback.
  2. An HR manager creates and distributes a remote team pulse survey to evaluate workload balance, communication, and overall morale.
  3. A product manager designs a feature validation survey for existing customers to understand current workarounds and perceived feature value.

In this article, we’ll walk through the steps of:

  1. Installing the connector in Claude
  2. Using the SurveySparrow connector in Claude

Installing the connector in Claude

1. Inside your Claude account, click on your profile and select Settings.

2. When the panel opens, click on Connectors, then click on Customize.
Image
3. In the Connectors section, click on the plus icon at the top of the screen.
Image
4. When the connector directory opens as a pop-up, search for SurveySparrow, then open it.

5. Click on Connect.

6. A sign-up screen will appear. If you already have an account, click on Login and complete the process.

7. An authorization screen will appear. Click on Authorize.

8. After installation, the SurveySparrow connector will appear with its respective permissions.
Image
Note: By default, all the permissions require user approval, meaning that the connector will request permission before executing any step you ask of it. If you would like to change that (for individual steps or overall), you can do so here.

An alternative option is to click on the plus icon in the bottom left corner of the chat box and hover over Connectors in the drop-down menu. When the connector sub-menu appears, hover over Add Connectors, then click on Browse Connectors.

The connector directory opens up again, search and open the SurveySparrow connector, then repeat the same steps.

How to use the SurveySparrow connector for Claude

1. After connecting SurveySparrow, you can open a chat and type your requirement as a prompt. For example, you can ask Claude to create a survey. Specify what type of survey you want in your prompt. Claude will create a survey preview that you can review.

2. Suppose you want to edit the survey (add/remove questions, rewrite or reorder questions), ask Claude to make the necessary changes in a follow-up prompt.

3. Once you’re satisfied, ask Claude to publish the survey inside your account. In the widget that Claude generates, there are options to edit and distribute the survey (you will be redirected to your account in another window), or to copy the short URL that’s generated.

4. Claude can also distribute the survey via email, SMS or WhatsApp, based on your instructions. Let’s check out the steps to distribute via email. Instruct Claude and then share the emails that must receive the survey.

5. Claude will show you a list of your surveys with their respective survey IDs. Copy the ID of the intended survey from the widget and share it with Claude.

6. If you’d like to track the responses you’ve received to date, you can ask Claude. If the default permission configuration is to always ask for approval, it will generate a request which you must approve.

Note: You can ask Claude to also share the most recent responses from a particular timeframe (eg: today, yesterday, last week, etc).

7. If you’d like to look up other surveys, you can also ask Claude to list them. Claude will generate a widget containing all the surveys and key stats per survey.

8. You can also ask Claude to analyze responses, simply by asking it.

9. Another powerful aspect of the connector is the ability to use it along with other platform connectors, all via a single prompt. Let’s take an example. We want to send a feedback survey to customers whose support tickets were resolved. The tickets are in HubSpot, but the connector is installed. You only have to provide a prompt and Claude will work across both systems to get it done. You will still be in the loop to review what it does, and only after you provide final confirmation will Claude actually execute the task.

In this case, Claude creates a  survey draft and identifies the contacts to send it to. Once you approve, Claude executes the task in steps: first publishing the survey, then sending emails.
