How to use SurveySparrow Webhooks?

Send data from your survey to the URLs specified using Webhooks

Wish you could deliver real-time data to other applications? Let’s introduce you to Webhooks!

Webhooks help you communicate with third-party applications by pushing your survey data to a configured URL called the Webhook URL. Every new survey response triggers a request to the configured webhook URL along with the survey response data.

For instance, webhooks are extremely useful for integrating with online ticketing software like Freshdesk and Zendesk. Survey responses can be tracked and monitored without the hassle of switching between two software.

So with webhooks, you get real-time, instant information which saves you a ton of stress and effort!

Let’s see how Webhooks are configured:

1. On your survey page, click on the Integrate icon.

2. The Survey Integration page opens, click on Webhooks tab.

3. To create a new Webhook, click on the Add New Webhook Icon.

4. On the Webhooks page, you will find all the configurations required to set up your Webhook. Enter your Webhook URL under the ‘Call Back URL’ field. The survey data is sent to this URL.

5. You can also choose the placeholders according to your preferences. Click on Dollar option to select one.

6. Hit Save Details once you have entered all the necessary details in the webhooks page. The webhook URL is mandatory.

Troubleshooting: Why webhooks may not fire for responses in “Started” status - Webhooks are triggered when a response event is created by the platform (for example, when a response is submitted/recorded). If a respondent has only opened the survey and not submitted/recorded any response, the response can remain in “Started” status and no webhook will be sent. - If you have Partial Submission enabled, webhooks for partial responses may not be sent immediately. Partial responses can be processed after a short delay (to avoid multiple triggers while the respondent is still answering). - If you are expecting partial responses to trigger your integration, confirm that Partial Submission is enabled for that survey and then test by answering at least one question and waiting a few minutes before checking your receiving system. - If completed responses trigger webhooks but partial/started responses do not, it usually indicates the respondent did not actually submit/record any answer (or the partial response has not yet been processed).

Yaay! That’s all. You have completed the webhook set.

Submit a sample response to check the data.
