Set accurate targets to compare business performance.
Benchmarks are reference points that enable you to compare your business’s performance against industry standards or competitors. With the benchmarks set, you can easily track progress toward your business goals while spotting significant opportunities for improvement.
Let’s go through the step-by-step process of setting up benchmarks for your widgets.
1. Navigate to the Insights section and click Dashboards.
2. Click New Widget.
3. Select By Chart Type.
4. Choose the widget you want to set up the benchmark for.
Note: The following widgets support Benchmarks.
- Bar Chart
- Line Chart
- Composite Chart
- Area Chart
- Trend Chart
5. Select the source and configure metrics for the chosen widget.
6. Click Advanced.
7. Click on the “+” icon to add the benchmark.
8. Enter the name of the benchmark.
Note: The benchmark name will be displayed under the chart, near the axis label, once the benchmark is set up.
9. Choose a Y-axis as your reference axis.
Note: The reference axis option will be available only if you have two Y-axis metrics configured for the widget. For a single Y-axis metric, the reference axis will default to the same axis.
Choosing aggregation for the benchmark
1. By default, the aggregation is set as CONSTANT. In this case, enter a specific value for the benchmark.
2. Preview your benchmark and click Save.
3. You can also choose any other aggregations listed in the dropdown.
5. Choose the metric for which you want to set the benchmark.Note: You can choose from custom metrics, expressions, or questions.
6. Select the date range.
7. You can choose to Apply Widget Filters to align your benchmark with the criteria set for the widget.
8. Click Save.
9. Click on the “+” icon to set up multiple benchmarks.
Note: You can add a maximum of 3 benchmarks to the widget, with two benchmarks set up for one axis.
10. Preview once and click Add Widget.
The widget with the benchmark will be displayed on your dashboard.
With the benchmarks in place, you can track your brand’s performance, identify strengths, and pinpoint areas for enhancement, to achieve sustained growth.
