While choosing to share Classic surveys through offline devices, a few question types will not be supported at present. If you choose not to fix it, the questions will be skipped while running it on your offline device.
The following question types are yet to be supported for offline mode.
- Bipolar Matrix
- Slider
- Contact Form
- Website
- Group Rating
- Payment
- Consent/Agreement
- HeatMap
To retain the essence of your existing questions, we have some effective alternatives. We have curated a set of question types that would help you in that pursuit.
After choosing the Offline mode to share a survey, you’ll be notified about the unsupported questions in the survey.
Click Fix Issues to navigate to the Build section and update the unsupported questions with alternates.
Now, let’s look at the alternate question types to set up the survey for Offline share.
Alternate question types
For Bipolar Matrix
To know how strongly a respondent agrees or disagrees with a statement, you can break them into individual Opinion Scale questions.
Let’s say you have a Bipolar Matrix question as shown below.
You can convert this into individual Opinion Scale questions to get the desired output in Offline share.
1. Click Change Question Type to view the other question types.
2. Select the Opinion Scale question.
3. Edit the question text specific to an aspect of your Bipolar Matrix question.
Similarly, create an Opinion Scale question for the other statements that were present in your Bipolar Matrix question.
For Slider question type
To get numerical input from the user, you can choose to use the Number question type for the same limit set for the Slider question type.
Let’s say you have a Slider question as shown below.
You can convert this into a Number question type to gather the required information.
1. Click Change Question Type to view the other question types.
2. Select the Number question type.
3. Turn on the Set Default Answer toggle to set a default value.
4. Turn on the Validation toggle to set the desired number range.
For Contact Form
To get the details of a person, you can choose to get the corresponding details from dedicated individual questions and add them to a section.
Click Change Question Type.
You can use the Text question type for the Name, Address, and City fields. Add them one by one.
For Zip code, you can use the Number question type.
Click Add a question and select Number.
For fetching email addresses, you can use the Email question type.
Click Add a question and choose the Email.
To collect phone numbers, you can use the Phone Number question type.
Click Add a question and select Phone Number.
Once you add the corresponding alternate questions for the Contact Form question, club these questions into a single-page view.
For Website
For getting a web link from the respondent, you can use the Text question type as an alternate.
1. Click Change question type.
2. Choose the Text question type.
For Group Rating
To understand the quality of various services, you can convert the Group Rating question into individual Rating questions.
1. Click Change Question Type.
2. Select the Rating question type.
Similarly, create a Rating question for the remaining aspects that were present in the Group Rating question.

- While changing a question type, all the previously collected responses will be lost
- Consider this to be a temporary fix as Offline share will support all the question types soon
- At present, the following configurations are not supported for Offline share
- Default answers
- N/A option
- Regex validation
- Voice Transcription
- Translate answer
- For Date questions, the Show Calendar option
- For Multiple Choice questions, the Selection Limits option
- For CX surveys, Segmented Options and Translate Answers
